Foreclosure is a devastating process that can, and should be avoided. There are very good reasons to consider a short sale – it is less damaging to your credit as there is approximately only a 50 point hit as opposed to a 300 point hit for a foreclosure. Also, you will be able to purchase another home in two to three years instead of seven if you have a foreclosure on your credit.
If I am able to help you, there is no cost to you for my services and I will work with your mortgage company to see if you qualify for a “Short Sale”. A short sale is when we ask the bank to take less money than what is owed on the property. For example, if your mortgages total $200,000 but your home is only worth $180,000 we are “shorting” the bank money; it’s not a “quick” sale.
There are many factors involved in determining the correct course of action to take if you are facing foreclosure and I may not be able to help you, but I will do my very best.
